20 Oct 2011 - New veterinary practice for pets and farm livestock opens in Melton

Both livestock farmers and pet owners will be able to take advantage of a new veterinary practice which has just opened in Melton Mowbray. For farmers, it brings the convenience of an easy drop into location, with parking, for collecting medicine supplies. For pet owners, it offers a discounted neutering, vaccination and small animal clinic.

The premises are a joint venture between specialist farm animal vet practice Farm Vet Solutions which has its headquarters at Uppingham, and the discount pet vaccination clinic Vets for Less, previously based at Buena Vista kennels, Frisby.

Managing the Melton branch is veterinary surgeon Andrew Cooke, supported by veterinary nurse Kirstie Rogers. The practice is situated down Kings Road, and is open Monday to Friday.

Farm Vet Solutions' director Mike Thorne adds: "With a growing number of farm clients around Melton, together with the livestock auction market, the King's Road location was an ideal location to site our new branch. As it now has a vet in attendance, it also provided the opportunity to offer affordable pet surgical operations and vaccination clinics."

Farmers wanting to pre-order medicines for collection in Melton, should still call the existing number on 01572 823357. To make an appointment with the vaccination or neutering clinic, pet owners should call 0844 8797237.
